About Us

Since 1981, the Community Services Block Grant Program, a Federally funded program has provided a variety of services designed to help low-income households achieve financial stability and self-sufficiency.

Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency has has been awarded funding for the Community Services Block Grant Program.

Available services include, but are not limited to assistance with essential household utilities, such as electric, water, and natural gas service, rent and mortgage assistance, prescription and medical supply assistance.

Households interested in applying for CSBG services must meet program qualifications including income and crisis eligibility. Every customer must be interviewed in person at a local Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency outreach office.  To find the MCCAA outreach office for your county, click here.

Please be advised that the requests for service with ARRA CSBG funding are high, and the interviewing process varies case by case. As a result, you may experience a long wait to be interviewed. MCCAA asks that you bear with us, as we do our best to provide each customer with thorough service.

Households with income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines* will meet the income eligibility rule, however, the household must still qualify through the crisis eligibility rules.
