LEBANON –Wild wings, warm hearts. These are the words that Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency uses to describe the Buffalo Wild Wings family. Recently, Buffalo Wild Wings made a generous donation to MCCAA Sumner county.
“When asked why Buffalo Wild Wings wanted to give to a local help agency, Austin Newman, BWW manager, said that giving to the community is just part of who Buffalo Wild Wings is. “One of the company core values is to build ties within the communities in which we are located. If we contribute to this community, it will contribute to us” said Newman. Co-manager, Diedre Matthews, did her homework, and came up with MCCAA as the recipient agency.
“The money donated by Buffalo Wild Wings will be used to purchase food for the Sumner County food pantry. All foods for the MCCAA Sumner County Pantry are donated or purchased with donated funds. Per month, when fully stocked, this modest food pantry can provide food for as many as 100 households for three days. The tricky part is keeping it stocked. With everyone feeling the pinch of the economic crisis, it has become harder and harder to find resources to keep the food pantry at full capacity. “With the rising cost of living and the unemployment surge, more and more people are asking for food assistance. Thanks to the generous donation of these funds by Buffalo Wild Wings, we can help ensure that fewer people go to bed hungry in Sumner County this month” said Kreda Yokley, executive director for MCCAA..
