LEBANON – Atmos Energy Corp. is a generous corporate citizen helping Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency provide critical services to Middle Tennessee families finding it difficult to make ends meet.
The Mid-State natural gas provider recently donated $2,500 to MCCAA, a non-profit organization offering much-needed services to low-income families and their children in Middle Tennessee.
“We appreciate the generosity of Atmos Energy,” said Kreda Yokley, the non-profit’s executive director. “Energy prices, including heating and cooling costs for our homes, continue to climb.
“All of us have been affected by ever-increasing energy costs, but it especially hurts our senior citizens on fixed incomes and low-income families. Our agency’s mission is to help families and their children.
“But we would be seriously struggling to meet our mission if it weren’t for the unselfishness of partners like Atmos Energy,” she said.
“Atmos Energy is committed to our communities, and we always try to support those in need,” said Denise Manning, Atmos Energy public affairs manager. “We always try to support those in need, and we are pleased to be able to make a donation to MCCAA, an agency with the heart of the people in mind.”
Since 1971, MCCAA has provided a number of home energy assistance, medical support, transportation, rental, mortgage and utility assistance, and nutritional services to Middle Tennessee families. Agency programs include Head Start and Early Head Start, Self-Sufficiency and Income Tax Preparation. The agency services eight Mid-State counties, which include Cannon, Cheatham, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson and Wilson.
